Buddha Shakyamuni
Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and is revered as the enlightened teacher who shared the path to liberation from suffering. Born as a prince in ancient India around the 5th century BCE, he renounced his royal life in search of the truth behind human suffering. After years of meditation and asceticism, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, becoming the "Shakyamuni," or "Sage of the Shakya clan." His teachings, known as the Dharma, form the foundation of Buddhism and include the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. Shakyamuni Buddha’s statues often depict him in serene meditation or teaching postures, symbolizing wisdom, compassion, and the path to spiritual awakening.
