This statue typically depicts Dorje Phagmo in a dynamic, wrathful pose, standing in a powerful stance or dancing in a circle of flames, symbolizing her ability to destroy ignorance and delusions. The sow’s head, often emerging from the side of her crown, signifies her direct and fierce nature, cutting through all obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Her body is often adorned with skull garlands and bone ornaments, signifying the impermanence of life and the need to transcend worldly attachments. In her hands, she holds the kartika (ritual knife), which represents the cutting of the ego, and the kapala (skull cup), symbolizing the transformation of negative emotions into enlightened awareness. The flames that surround her represent the purifying fire of wisdom that burns away ignorance, delusions, and egoic desires.
