Colorful Vajrapani (Chana Dorje) Statue - Wrathful Bodhisattva of Power

This authentic Vajrapani statue is handcrafted by Newar artisans in Nepal using lost-wax casting techniques and cast from solid copper. The figure is hand painted with acrylics and finished with gold-gilded accents for a lasting shine. Hand-chased detailing gives ornaments and jewelry a lifelike richness, carrying the mark of hands devoted to this craft. Standing upon finely carved lotus pedestal and framed with blazing halo, this Tibetan Buddhist sculpture captures the dynamic power of the wrathful bodhisattva.

Vajrapani is shown in a wrathful form with piercing eyes and a commanding expression that reflects his role as a protector of the Dharma. The vajra raised in his right hand and the lasso held in his left symbolize strength and the ability to overcome obstacles, while his skull crown and tiger-skin garment express his powerful Vajrayana iconography. Devotees turn to Vajrapani for courage and protection and he is traditionally revered for dispelling negative energies and strengthening spiritual resolve.

About Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Thunderbolt,” is one of the earliest and most powerful bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. Vajrapāṇi is often depicted in a wrathful form, with a muscular body, fierce expression, and surrounded by flames, symbolizing his ability to destroy ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Legends describe Vajrapāṇi as a guardian of Gautama Buddha, protecting him from harm and embodying the indomitable force of an enlightened mind. He is also known as the “Lord of Secrets” for his role in transmitting tantric teachings to humanity. His mantra, "Om Vajrapani Hum Phat", is chanted to invoke courage, dispel negativity, and cultivate inner strength.
