Chenrezig
The Four-Armed Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is a highly esteemed figure in Tibetan Buddhism, symbolizing the essence of limitless compassion for all sentient beings. His four arms represent his boundless ability to offer help, with two hands positioned in a prayer gesture (anjali mudra) that grasp a wish-fulfilling jewel, embodying the core of compassion. One of his right hands holds a rosary, which signifies the ongoing prayers for the welfare of all beings, while his left-hand cradles a lotus flower, a symbol of purity and spiritual enlightenment. Chenrezig is celebrated as the embodiment of the compassion that exists within all Buddhas. His mantra, "Om Mani Padme Hum," is among the most frequently recited prayers in Buddhism, calling forth the qualities of compassion and mercy.
