About Dorje Lekpa

Dorje Legka, also known in Sanskrit as Vajra Sadhu, is a powerful oath-bound Dharma protector in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism who plays a crucial role in safeguarding the Revealed Treasure teachings, also known as Terma. Originally an indigenous worldly spirit of Tibet, Dorje Legpa was subjugated by Guru Padmasambhava in the 8th century and bound by sacred vows to serve the Buddhist Dharma. He is typically depicted with a wrathful appearance, having one face, two hands, and three eyes, and he rides a snow lion, which symbolizes fearlessness, power, and spiritual authority. In his right hand, he holds a vajra made of meteoric iron, representing indestructible wisdom, while his left hand grasps a human heart, signifying his ability to cut through delusion and ego.
