Description

Large-Sized Green Tara for Mediation & Prayer | Buddhist Icon of Liberation & Compassion

This Green Tara statue is hand cast using traditional lost wax method from solid copper by a Newari artisan in Nepal. The copper alloy is then chemically oxidized using an acidic solution, developing a protective and earthy brown patina that preserves the copper beneath. Every detail from the tall tiered crown to beautifully hand painted tranquil eyes rendered in acrylic and the semi-precious stones set into her jewelry, reflects the extraordinary skill and devotion.

Green Tara is seated gracefully upon a lotus throne in lalitasana posture, symbolizing her readiness to rise at any moment and answer the prayers. Her right hand rests in varada mudra while her left hand forms vitarka mudra at her chest, holding the stem of a blooming utpala flower. Revered across Buddhism as the swift liberator and embodiment of compassion, Green Tara offers protection from suffering to all who turn to her for guidance.

Grand in scale and commanding in presence, this statue is well suited for meditation halls, as well as home altars seeking a powerful centerpiece of devotion. As a singularly crafted masterpiece with no copies made, this green tara statue is a rare and treasured acquisition for serious practitioners and collectors of Buddhist art.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

About Green Tara

Green Tara, also known as the "Mother Tara & Swift Liberator," is a revered celestial Buddha in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, embodying the active energy of enlightened compassion. According to sacred texts, she manifested from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion, taking a vow to alleviate suffering and protect beings from all fears. Her radiant green form represents the vibrant flowering of wisdom and compassionate action in the world. Her teachings emphasize immediate response to suffering through the powerful Green Tara mantra" Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha", which devotees chant to invoke her blessings of protection, courage, and liberation from obstacles.
