21-Inche Padmasambhava Sculpture | Buddhist Mediational & Devotional Decor

Radiating golden glow, this Guru Rinpoche statue from Nepal is cast in a resilient copper alloy using the lost wax technique, preserved across generations by Newari artisans of Kathmandu Valley. Every contour is carved and polished by hand before the surface receives layers of 24K gold fire gilding, lending this Padmasambhava sculpture its luminous finish. Hand chasing and repoussé work bring refined detail to the robes and lotus pedestal, while inlaid gemstones add delicate touches across the lotus hat, earrings and necklace. With its expressive face and richly ornamented form, this handcrafted Buddhist statue reflects devotion and skill behind Nepal’s metalwork tradition.

Revered as the Second Buddha of Tibet, Guru Rinpoche established Vajrayana Buddhism & transformed obstacles into wisdom. He sits in powerful composure upon a finely sculpted lotus pedestal, holding vajra in his right hand as a symbol of indestructible wisdom while cradling a skull cup in his lap, representing the complete transformation of ego. The sacred khatvanga staff rests against his shoulder, embodying perfect union of wisdom and skillful means. As a guardian of Dharma and bringer of awakening, he is invoked for protection and removal of obstacles. About Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the “Precious Guru,” is a legendary tantric master and enlightened being credited with bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Born miraculously from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana, he is revered as a fully awakened emanation of the Buddha, sent to tame negative forces and reveal profound esoteric teachings. Guru Rinpoche played a pivotal role in establishing the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and in founding Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery. His teachings, miracles, and hidden spiritual treasures (terma) continue to inspire generations of practitioners. He is invoked as the “Second Buddha” and a powerful guide on the path to liberation, with devotees reciting his sacred Guru Rinpoche mantra: Om Ah Hung Vajra Guru Pema Siddhi Hum.
