Guru Rinpoche Statue from Nepal | Traditional Newari Craftsmanship

Bring a sense of spiritual inspiration and protection to your home with this beautifully handcrafted Guru Rinpoche Statue, also known as Padmasambhava and revered as the Second Buddha. Created by skilled Newari artisans in Patan, Nepal, using traditional metalworking techniques, this sacred sculpture is crafted from copper and finished with radiant gold fire gilding. His finely gold-painted face captures a semi-wrathful expression, symbolizing compassionate power, spiritual protection, and the ability to overcome obstacles. Carefully inlaid semi-precious stones enhance the statue’s regal appearance, while his traditional kasaya robe reflects the rich artistic heritage of Nepalese Buddhist craftsmanship.

Guru Rinpoche sits in a majestic royal posture on a finely crafted lotus pedestal, wearing an intricately hand-carved garment decorated with elegant floral motifs. His iconic red lotus hat is crowned with a vulture feather. In his right hand, he holds a silver-plated vajra, while his left hand cradles a silver-plated kapala (skull cup). The sacred khatvanga rests against his left shoulder, completing his traditional depiction.

Devotees seek Guru Rinpoche for spiritual protection, guidance, and the strength to overcome obstacles on their path to enlightenment. Revered as the Second Buddha, he is especially honored in Vajrayana Buddhism for his role in establishing Buddhism in Tibet and transmitting sacred teachings. This authentic Himalayan Buddhist statue is a meaningful addition to a sacred altar, meditation space, or spiritual art collection, making it a thoughtful choice for Vajrayana practitioners and collectors who appreciate Nepalese craftsmanship and Buddhist tradition.

About Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the “Precious Guru,” is a legendary tantric master and enlightened being credited with bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Born miraculously from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana, he is revered as a fully awakened emanation of the Buddha, sent to tame negative forces and reveal profound esoteric teachings. Guru Rinpoche played a pivotal role in establishing the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and in founding Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery. His teachings, miracles, and hidden spiritual treasures (terma) continue to inspire generations of practitioners. He is invoked as the “Second Buddha” and a powerful guide on the path to liberation, with devotees reciting his sacred Guru Rinpoche mantra: Om Ah Hung Vajra Guru Pema Siddhi Hum.
