About Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Thunderbolt,” is one of the earliest and most powerful bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. Vajrapāṇi is often depicted in form, with a muscular body, a fierce expression, and flames surrounding him, symbolizing his ability to destroy ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Legends describe Vajrapāṇi as a guardian of Gautama Buddha, protecting him from harm and embodying the indomitable force of an enlightened mind. He is also known as the “Lord of Secrets” for his role in transmitting tantric teachings to humanity. His mantra, "Om Vajrapāṇi Hūṃ Phaṭ", is chanted to invoke courage, dispel negativity, and cultivate inner strength.
