Description

Vajrayogini Ghau Mala | Queen of Yoginis Sacred Locket

This Vajrayogini Ghau Mala is a handcrafted Buddhist amulet from Nepal, made by a Newari master artist using ancient metalworking techniques. The ghau box is formed from durable copper alloy, then layered with gold gilding and fine filigree patterns. A border of richly colored gemstone settings frames each deity. Worn as a locket on its golden cord, it is both a devotional object and a refined piece of jewelry.

The ghau features a dual deity icon. On the outer surface, Vajrayogini, revered as the Queen of Yoginis is carved from coral and shown dancing with a raised skull cup. She embodies the transformation of passion and ego into awakened wisdom. Inside, Vajrapani is carved from blue lapis lazuli in his wrathful form with the vajra held high. As the Bodhisattva of Sacred Power, he protects the practitioner from obstacles. Together, the two deities unite wisdom and strength, making this sacred locket a meaningful companion for daily practice, travel, or a thoughtful spiritual gift.

About Ghau Box

A Ghau is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist amulet box and portable shrine, commonly worn around the neck or carried during travel and pilgrimage. Traditionally made from metals such as silver, copper, or brass and often decorated with coral, turquoise, repoussé work, and auspicious Buddhist motifs, a Ghau is designed to hold sacred contents such as miniature Buddha or deity images, mantras, prayers, relics, consecrated substances, or other blessed objects. Rather than being simply a decorative pendant, the Ghau serves as a personal devotional container, allowing sacred objects to remain close to the wearer and symbolically providing protection and spiritual connection during daily life, travel, and religious practice.
