Shakyamuni Buddha with Disciples Statue – Enlightened Triad for Peace & Devotion

Handcrafted using lost wax method from Nepal, this Shakyamuni Buddha with Disciples statue set is cast in solid copper and enhanced with gold fire-gilding, then chemically oxidized to reveal an aged patina across each robe. Every figure shares the same meticulous artistry, from the folds of the monastic robes to the fine floral engravings along their borders, reflecting centuries of Nepalese metalworking tradition.

At the center, Shakyamuni Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, sits in deep meditation upon a lotus throne his right hand resting in the earth-touching mudra while his left hand cradles a monk's bowl in his lap. Flanking him stand his two foremost disciples, Sariputra and Maudgalyayana each holding a tall khakkhara staff while the other hand cradles an alms bowl at the waist. Crowned by a high ushnisha and dressed in robes adorned with auspicious symbols, the Buddha's downcast gaze mirrors the contemplative expressions of the disciples standing faithfully at his side.

This Shakyamuni Buddha with Disciples statue set represents the living transmission of the Buddha's teachings, capturing the sacred bond between an enlightened teacher and the devoted disciples who carried his wisdom into the world. Sariputra and Maudgalyayana is honored for his unmatched wisdom and revered for his profound meditative power. Keeping this triad in a meditation room or home altar is believed to invite blessings of discipline and spiritual protection.

About Shakyamuni Buddha with Two Disciples

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and the embodiment of enlightened wisdom and compassion. In Tibetan and Himalayan Buddhist art, he is often depicted seated serenely on a lotus throne in meditation, holding a monk's alms bowl. When portrayed with his two foremost disciples, Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, the statue takes on deeper spiritual meaning, emphasizing the Buddha’s role as the supreme teacher guiding others toward liberation. Shariputra, standing to Shakyamuni’s right, is revered as the embodiment of supreme wisdom. Maudgalyayana, on his left, represents great miraculous powers and deep meditative insight.
