Guru Rinpoche Statue for Altar | Lotus-Born Master of Vajrayana Buddhism

Bring the lotus-born master of Vajrayana Buddhism into your home with this Guru Rinpoche statue, handcrafted in Nepal by Newari artisans of the Kathmandu Valley. Cast in copper using the traditional lost-wax technique, it is finished with a chemically oxidized patina that gives the metal a rich antique tone. Semi-precious stones are inlaid across the lotus hat and necklace, adding subtle detail to every carved contour.

Revered as the Second Buddha of Tibet, Padmasambhava, also known as Guru Rinpoche, established Vajrayana Buddhism and transformed obstacles into wisdom. He sits in powerful composure upon a finely sculpted lotus pedestal, holding a vajra in his right hand as a symbol of indestructible wisdom. A skull cup rests in his lap, representing the transformation of ego, while the khatvanga staff leans against his shoulder, reflecting the union of wisdom and skillful means. Devotees invoke him for protection and the removal of obstacles, and this statue brings calm and timeless beauty to any meditation room or quiet corner of your home.

About Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the “Precious Guru,” is a legendary tantric master and enlightened being credited with bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Born miraculously from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana, he is revered as a fully awakened emanation of the Buddha, sent to tame negative forces and reveal profound esoteric teachings. Guru Rinpoche played a pivotal role in establishing the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and in founding Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery. His teachings, miracles, and hidden spiritual treasures (terma) continue to inspire generations of practitioners. He is invoked as the “Second Buddha” and a powerful guide on the path to liberation, with devotees reciting his sacred Guru Rinpoche mantra: Om Ah Hung Vajra Guru Pema Siddhi Hum.
