Description

Guru Rinpoche Sculpture for Meditation – Handmade in Nepal

Handcrafted in Nepal by Newari artisans, this Guru Rinpoche sculpture is cast from solid copper using the age-old lost-wax method. A controlled chemical oxidation process develops a deep brown patina, and a subtle polish lets the surface shine gracefully across every contour. Hand-carved motifs trace delicately across folds of robe, each curve shaped with patience and precision. This statue makes a fitting centerpiece for a home altar or meditation shrine, where its warm brown tones bring a quiet presence to daily practice.

Guru Rinpoche is seated in a royal posture upon a finely detailed double lotus pedestal, dressed in a royal robe and lotus hat. He holds the vajra in his right hand representing indestructible wisdom while his left hand cradles kapala, a symbol of transforming negative emotions. The khatvanga rests against his left shoulder, expressing profound Vajrayana realization and enlightened activity. Semi-precious turquoise and coral stones are set into the ornate details, adding subtle color to the statue. Devotees seek his blessings for protection and growth of wisdom and compassion on path toward awakening, and this sculpture serves as a meaningful reminder of those aims in everyday life.

About Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the “Precious Guru,” is a legendary tantric master and enlightened being credited with bringing Vajrayana Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th century. Born miraculously from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana, he is revered as a fully awakened emanation of the Buddha, sent to tame negative forces and reveal profound esoteric teachings. Guru Rinpoche played a pivotal role in establishing the Nyingma school, the oldest of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism, and in founding Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery. His teachings, miracles, and hidden spiritual treasures (terma) continue to inspire generations of practitioners. He is invoked as the “Second Buddha” and a powerful guide on the path to liberation, with devotees reciting his sacred Guru Rinpoche mantra: Om Ah Hung Vajra Guru Pema Siddhi Hum.
