Description

Vajrapani Statue – Wrathful Bodhisattva of Spiritual Power & Protection

This Tibetan Vajrapani statue is handcrafted in Nepal by Newari artisans using lost-wax method. Cast in premium copper, the sculpture has a dark patina created through a specialized oxidation process that chemically treats the surface. This gives the copper an elegant aged finish and forms a protective layer over the metal. Designed as a refined oxidized copper Buddhist statue, it reflects the enduring heritage of Nepalese metal artistry and spiritual craftsmanship.

Vajrapani, the Bodhisattva of Power and Protection, is portrayed in a wrathful stance upon a lotus pedestal, surrounded by a blazing aureole of flames. He holds the vajra in his right hand and a lasso in his left, while his fierce expression and tiger-skin garment emphasize his powerful protective nature. Devotees revere this wrathful bodhisattva as an embodiment of spiritual strength, protection, and fearless action. This finely detailed Vajrapani statue is well suited for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces and sacred collections.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

About Vajrapani

Vajrapani, whose name means “Holder of the Thunderbolt,” is one of the earliest and most powerful bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism. He represents the spiritual strength and protective power of all Buddhas, standing alongside Avalokiteśvara and Mañjuśrī (wisdom) as part of a sacred triad. Vajrapāṇi is often depicted in a wrathful form, with a muscular body, fierce expression, and surrounded by flames, symbolizing his ability to destroy ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. He is also known as the “Lord of Secrets” for his role in transmitting tantric teachings to humanity. His mantra, Om Vajrapāṇi Hūṃ Phaṭ, is chanted to invoke courage and cultivate inner strength.
