Kalachakra
This Kalachakra deity is worshiped in the Kalachakra Tantra as the embodiment of time and cosmic cycles for the integration of wisdom and compassion in Tibetan Buddhism. "Kalachakra" is translated as "the wheel of time," in which all phenomena are interconnected. This practice, which was brought to Tibet in the 11th century, aims at bringing one's inner (body and mind), outer (cosmos), and alternative (spiritual realization) dimensions of existence into harmony. Among the most interesting stories about it is how the Buddha imparted this teaching to Shambhalan king Suchandra for future times when humanity would need their wisest teachings, thus preserving the Kalachakra teachings in a mythical utopian kingdom.
