Description

Green Tara Statue – Female Bodhisattva of Enlightened Activity

This Green Tara Statue is cast from solid copper using lost wax method, then chemically oxidized with an acidic solution to develop a earthy brown patina. This time honored process preserves the copper beneath while giving the sculpture its distinctive weathered finish, a testament to the skill and devotion of Nepali master craftsmen who hand shape every contour of her form.

Seated in lalitasana with her right leg gracefully extended in readiness to rise and aid all beings, Green Tara rests her right hand in varada mudra while her left hand rises in vitarka mudra holding the stem of an utpala lotus blooming at her shoulder. Devotees turn to Green Tara for swift protection and compassionate guidance through fear and hardship, making this oxidized copper statue a meaningful centerpiece for any meditation room or dharma practice space.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

About Green Tara

Green Tara, also known as the "Mother Tara & Swift Liberator," is a revered celestial Buddha in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, embodying the active energy of enlightened compassion. According to sacred texts, she manifested from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Infinite Compassion, taking a vow to alleviate suffering and protect beings from all fears. Her radiant green form represents the vibrant flowering of wisdom and compassionate action in the world. Her teachings emphasize immediate response to suffering through the powerful mantra "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha", which devotees chant to invoke her blessings of protection, courage, and liberation from obstacles.
