Green Tara

Green Tara depicts the revered Buddhist goddess known for her swift compassion and power to dispel fears and obstacles. Green Tara appears as a youthful and radiant maiden, her vibrant green body representing enlightened activity and boundless compassion. She has one face and two graceful arms, adorned with a jeweled crown featuring five Buddha images, symbolizing her connection to the Five Dhyani Buddhas. Seated in the Lalita attitude on a blooming lotus throne, she holds her left hand in the refuge-granting mudra and her right hand in the varada mudra, offering blessings and responding instantly to the prayers of those who call upon her. As the Great Liberator, Green Tara protects from the eight great fears—fire, water, lions, snakes, thieves, bondage, ghosts, and evil spirits.
