Green Tara

Green Tara is one of the most beloved and widely revered deities in Tibetan Buddhism, known as the embodiment of active compassion and swift protection. She is considered a female Bodhisattva and is often referred to as the "Mother of all Buddhas" because of her nurturing energy and quick responsiveness to the needs of sentient beings. Green Tara is believed to have been born from the compassionate tears of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, and she vowed to remain in female form to benefit all beings.

Green Tara is typically depicted seated in a relaxed posture on a lotus throne, with her right leg extended to symbolize her readiness to step into action and help those in need. Her right hand is held in varada mudra, the gesture of generosity, and her left hand in abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection, often holding the stem of a blue lotus symbolizing purity and wisdom.
