Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was born as the crown prince of the powerful Shakya Kingdom and raised to become a great ruler, fulfilling the royal dreams of his father. However, at the age of 29, he encountered the profound suffering faced by humanity. Renouncing his royal life, luxurious garments, and golden riches, he set out on a spiritual quest to discover the root cause of suffering and how to overcome it. After nearly six years of intense meditation, ascetic practices, and inner exploration, he attained enlightenment, becoming the Buddha. This pivotal moment in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha is honored through the Shakyamuni Buddha Statue, a powerful symbol of wisdom, peace, and liberation. Following his awakening, Shakyamuni Buddha traveled to the Deer Park in Sarnath, near Varanasi, India, where he delivered his first teaching and set the wheel of Dharma in motion.
