Buddha Shakyamuni

Buddha Shakyamuni, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and one of the most revered spiritual teachers in the world. Born around the 5th to 6th century BCE in Lumbini (present-day Nepal), he was born into royalty but renounced his luxurious life in search of the truth behind human suffering. After years of deep meditation and ascetic practice, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India, becoming the "Shakyamuni" or "Sage of the Shakya Clan."

The teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha, known as the Dharma, form the foundation of Buddhist philosophy. He taught the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path, guiding followers toward the end of suffering (dukkha) and the achievement of nirvana—a state of liberation and inner peace. His life and message emphasize wisdom, ethical living, mindfulness, and compassion for all beings.
