Chenrezig

Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, is the bodhisattva of infinite compassion and one of the most beloved deities in Mahayana and Tibetan Buddhism. Revered as the embodiment of loving-kindness and mercy, Chenrezig is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of all sentient beings and guiding them toward enlightenment. He is often depicted with four arms—each symbolizing different aspects of compassionate action—holding a lotus flower, prayer beads (mala), and a wish-fulfilling jewel, while one pair of hands is joined in prayer at his heart. His sacred mantra, “Om Mani Padme Hum,” is chanted by millions around the world to invoke his blessings for healing, emotional strength, and spiritual awakening. Chenrezig is believed to manifest in many forms, with the Dalai Lama considered his earthly embodiment.
