Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, who is also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and the central figure whose teachings form the foundation of the tradition. He was born into a royal family in ancient India, yet he chose to leave behind his luxurious life to seek a deeper understanding of human suffering and the path to liberation. After years of spiritual discipline and profound meditation, he attained enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree and became the Buddha, which means the awakened one. Following his awakening, he spent the rest of his life sharing the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path so that others could also overcome ignorance and attain peace.
