Green Tara

Green Tara is one of the most beloved and powerful deities in Tibetan Buddhism, known as the embodiment of compassion, protection, and swift action. Often called the “Mother of Liberation,” Green Tara represents the active, compassionate energy that responds instantly to the cries of sentient beings, helping them overcome fears, obstacles, and suffering. She is depicted seated gracefully on a blooming lotus, symbolizing purity and enlightenment, with one leg extended forward, ready to spring into action.

Green Tara’s right hand is typically shown in the varada mudra (gesture of giving), symbolizing generosity and granting of wishes, while her left hand holds a blue lotus flower, representing spiritual awakening and protection. Devotees pray to Green Tara to receive courage, healing, and guidance on their spiritual path, often chanting her mantra “Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha” to invoke her blessings.
