Dorje Khadro

Dorje Khadro, also known as Vajradaka in Sanskrit, is the fierce purification deity in Tibetan Buddhism, primarily revered in the Vajradaka Tantra within the Chakrasamvara Cycle of Tantras. This wrathful form, known for consuming negativities and obscurations, plays a central role in fire puja rituals. In traditional Dorje Khadro ceremonies, practitioners offer black sesame seeds into the brazier of the Dorje Khadro—symbolizing negativities—which pass through the deity’s body and fall onto burning coals or incense, representing complete purification and the transformation of karmic impurities through sacred fire.
