Three Buddha Set

This Buddha statue set represents key aspects of Buddhist philosophy and teachings, offering a powerful aid for spiritual practice. Each Buddha in this set embodies specific qualities and teachings central to Buddhist thought.

According to legend, Amitabha Buddha, also known as the Buddha of Infinite Light, was once an emperor who renounced his throne to become the Dharmakara Bodhisattva. After practicing for five eons, he attained enlightenment and became the Buddha of Mercy and Wisdom, associated with the third skandha, the skandha of perception. Amitabha Buddha is often depicted in the Dhyana Mudra, a hand position symbolizing meditation and concentration. He is believed to reside in Sukhavati, the Western Pure Land, a realm of bliss and enlightenment.

Shakyamuni Buddha, the historical Buddha, is seated on a lotus throne in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, also known as the earth-touching pose. This posture represents the moment of his enlightenment and his triumph over the temptations of Mara. Shakyamuni Buddha embodies the path to enlightenment and liberation from suffering, teaching humanity to awaken and realize the true essence of existence. His teachings form the foundation of Buddhist philosophy and continue to guide practitioners in their spiritual journey.

Medicine Buddha, also known as Bhaiṣajyaguru or the Healing Buddha, resides in the purified eastern lapis lazuli realm. Depicted in the Varada Mudra, the gesture of compassion and wish-fulfilling, he represents the power to heal both physical and spiritual afflictions. Medicine Buddha is accompanied by two Bodhisattvas, Suryaprabha and Candrapraha, who assist him in reforming and teaching sentient beings in that realm. Devotees often engage in mantra recitation and meditation focused on Medicine Buddha for healing and karma purification.

This Buddha statue set, crafted by skilled Nepalese artisans, serves as a powerful tool for spiritual practice and a beautiful addition to any sacred space. Whether used for meditation, as an altar set, or simply as a reminder of the Buddha's teachings, this trio of gold gilded statues brings the energy of wisdom, compassion, and healing into your home or meditation area.
