About Zhabdrung Rinpoche

Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, revered as the "Precious Jewel at Whose Feet One Submits," is the founding saint and sovereign of Bhutan, embodying the inseparable union of spiritual mastery and enlightened leadership within the Drukpa Kagyü tradition. His serene, luminous form represents the purity of dharmic authority — a presence that unified a nation under the banner of the Buddha's teachings. As the earthly emanation of Avalokiteshvara, Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal embodies the Buddhist truth that compassionate wisdom, when wielded with unwavering resolve, has the power to transform both a land and its people.
