Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, known as Siddhartha Gautama, was born as the crown prince of the Shakya Kingdom. The name "Shakyamuni" translates to "Sage of the Shakyas," and in Tibetan Buddhism, Shakyamuni Buddha is revered as the historical Buddha who attained enlightenment. As the son of King Suddhodhana and Queen Maya, he renounced his royal life to seek ultimate wisdom. Tibetan Buddhist traditions honor Shakyamuni Buddha through sacred thangka paintings, statues, and rituals, emphasizing his teachings on the path to enlightenment and liberation from suffering.
