Hayagriva

Hayagriva is a revered deity in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, and he is known for embodying wisdom and fierce compassion. In Hinduism, Hayagriva is considered a horse-headed avatar of Vishnu who appeared to restore sacred knowledge and defeat a demon that had stolen the Vedas. He is typically depicted with a human body and a horse's head, and his radiant white form symbolizes purity and divine intellect. In Buddhism, particularly within the Vajrayana tradition, Hayagriva is a wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara, and he is invoked to overcome powerful obstacles and subdue harmful forces. His iconography often includes a horse's head emerging from his crown, and this represents the penetrating sound of enlightened speech that cuts through ignorance.
