Buddha

Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual teacher and the founder of Buddhism, one of the world’s most profound and influential philosophies. Born into royalty in the Shakya Kingdom of present-day Nepal around the 6th century BCE, Siddhartha was raised in luxury, shielded from the harsh realities of life. However, upon witnessing suffering in the forms of old age, illness, and death, he renounced his princely life at the age of 29 in search of a deeper understanding of human existence.

After years of meditation, rigorous ascetic practices, and inner reflection, Siddhartha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India. From that moment forward, he became known as The Buddha, meaning "The Awakened One." His spiritual awakening revealed the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path, which form the core of Buddhist teachings—a guide to overcoming suffering, cultivating compassion, and achieving Nirvana, the ultimate liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth.
