Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava or the “Precious Guru,” is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism credited with bringing Vajrayana teachings to Tibet in the 8th century. Believed to have been miraculously born from a lotus in the land of Oddiyana, he is considered an emanation of the Buddha and a fully enlightened being from birth. Guru Rinpoche played a pivotal role in establishing Buddhism in Tibet by subduing negative forces and founding the first monastery at Samye with King Trisong Detsen and the Indian master Shantarakshita. He is especially honored in the Nyingma tradition, where he is seen as the embodiment of compassion, wisdom, and tantric mastery. Devotees pray to Guru Rinpoche for protection, spiritual awakening, and the removal of inner and outer obstacles, often visualizing his radiant form during meditation and reciting his powerful mantra to invoke his blessings.
