Handmade Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture | Traditional Lost-Wax Casting Art

Our exquisitely hand-carved Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture is a powerful representation of enlightenment and inner peace. Crafted by a master artisan in Nepal using the traditional lost-wax method, the statue features the Buddha seated on a blooming lotus throne in the bhumisparsha mudra—his right hand touching the earth, symbolizing the moment of his awakening. A radiant halo behind his head enhances the sacred aura, reflecting his divine wisdom and presence.

Made from high-quality copper, the sculpture is polished with a sacred gold amalgam—a precise blend of pure 24k gold and mercury. It then undergoes a high-temperature firing process that evaporates the mercury, leaving a resilient and luminous layer of 24k fire gold gilding across the surface. This time-honored technique not only enhances the brilliance of the sculpture but also honors centuries-old Himalayan metal artistry.

At the heart of this sacred piece lies a hollow chamber, purposefully designed for consecration. Devotees may insert auspicious mantras, relics, or sacred substances to awaken and amplify their spiritual power.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Who is Shakyamuni Buddha?

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Gautama Buddha or Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and one of the most revered spiritual teachers in the world. Born as a prince in the ancient kingdom of Kapilavastu (in present-day Nepal), he renounced a life of luxury in search of the truth about human suffering. After years of intense meditation and ascetic practice, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodh Gaya, India.

The name “Shakyamuni” means “Sage of the Shakya Clan,” reflecting his noble lineage. He is most commonly depicted in the bhumisparsha mudra, or the “earth-touching gesture,” where his right hand reaches toward the earth to witness his enlightenment. This iconic pose symbolizes steadfastness, resolve, and the unshakable nature of truth.
