Simhamukha Statue | Lion-Faced Dakini for Spiritual Protection

Unveil the fierce wisdom and protective power of Simhamukha, the Lion-Faced Dakini, with this extraordinary handcrafted Buddhist statue created by a skilled Newari artist from Patan, Nepal. Formed from copper using the traditional lost-wax casting method, this sacred sculpture reflects the exceptional craftsmanship and artistic heritage of Himalayan Buddhist metalwork. Rich acrylic colors bring vibrant life to every intricate detail, while the finely 24K gold-painted face enhances the deity’s commanding presence, fierce compassion, and enlightened energy. Beautifully adorned with carefully set semi-precious stones, the statue radiates a striking visual elegance that further enriches the sacred symbolism and devotional significance of this revered Vajrayana protector.

The deity stands majestically upon a lotus seat, symbolizing purity and enlightened awareness, while subduing a human figure beneath, representing the triumph over ego, ignorance, and negative forces. Simhamukha holds a kartika knife, the sacred curved blade that severs attachments, delusions, and mental obscurations, while a kapala, accompanied by a trident, signifies the transformation of negative emotions into wisdom and the realization of ultimate truth. Together, these sacred attributes express the Lion-Faced Dakini's powerful role in cutting through ignorance and guiding practitioners toward spiritual awakening.

About Simha Mukha

Simha Mukha, also known as Simhamukha or the Lion-Faced Dakini, is a powerful and wrathful wisdom deity in Tibetan Buddhism, particularly revered in the Nyingma tradition. She is considered an emanation of the enlightened feminine energy of Guhyajnana Dakini and sometimes associated with Mandarava, the consort of Padmasambhava. Depicted with a roaring lion’s head, flaming hair, and a fierce expression, Simha Mukha symbolizes fearless clarity, cutting through ignorance, obstacles, and harmful thoughts.
