About Six-Armed Mahakala

Six-Armed Mhakala is a revered deity in Tibetan Buddhism, embodying the powerful aspect of compassion and fierce protection. Known as a wrathful manifestation of Avalokiteshvara (the Bodhisattva of Compassion), he is depicted with six arms symbolizing the ability to act swiftly in all directions to remove obstacles and provide aid to practitioners. His white color signifies purity and a benevolent nature, setting him apart from the more common black Mahakala. Each of his hands holds symbolic items, such as a skull cup and ritual implements, representing the defeat of negative forces and the transformation of ignorance into wisdom.
