Description

Traditionally Hand Carved Six-Armed Mahakala Statue

This powerful Six-Armed Mahakala Statue is meticulously hand-carved by a master artisan from Nepal using the ancient lost wax method, a process that took over a month to complete due to the intricate detailing required in every feature. Made from a solid copper base and lavishly fire-gilded in pure 24k gold, this masterpiece radiates divine authority and protective energy. As a wrathful protector deity in Tibetan Buddhism, Mahakala appears here in his six-armed form, symbolizing his swift, multidimensional power to remove obstacles and destroy negativity. His three eyes signify his ability to perceive the past, present, and future with clear awareness. Adorning his fierce head is a crown of five skulls, each representing the transformation of the five inner poisons, anger, desire, ignorance, jealousy, and pride, into the enlightened wisdoms of the five Buddha families.

Please note: The statue in the photograph is the actual piece for sale, ensuring authenticity and exclusivity.

Six-Armed Mahakala

Six-Armed Mahakala, known in Sanskrit as Shadbhuja Mahakala, is a powerful Dharmapala or protector of the Dharma in Vajrayana Buddhism, and he is especially revered in the Shangpa Kagyu and Gelugpa traditions. He is a wrathful emanation of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, who took this fierce form to subdue negative forces and protect spiritual practitioners in times of degeneration. His midnight blue body symbolizes the changeless Dharmakaya, and his three eyes represent his awareness of the past, present, and future, as well as the three bodies of the Buddha. The six arms signify mastery of the Six Perfections, which are generosity, ethics, patience, diligence, concentration, and wisdom. Each hand holds symbolic implements such as a curved knife, a skull cup, a rosary, a damaru drum, a trident, and a lasso, which represent his ability to cut through ego, subdue evil, maintain mindfulness, control dakinis, and bind those who stray from the path of Dharma.
