Guru Rinpoche

This is Guru Rinpoche, also called Padmasambhava or the Lotus-born Master, seated on a lotus throne as a personification of Vajrayana Buddhism. In this Padmasambhava statue, the master holds a vajra (thunderbolt) in his right hand symbolizing the indestructible nature of enlightenment in Vajrayana practices. His left hand resting in dhyana mudra cradles a skull cup that contains the nectar of wisdom and immortality-a powerful symbol in Tantric rituals.
