Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama, revered as the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism, is considered an embodiment of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. Originating in the 14th century, the lineage of the Dalai Lamas has served as both spiritual and, historically, temporal leaders of Tibet, guiding the Tibetan people through wisdom, compassion, and nonviolence. The current 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, continues this sacred legacy by spreading messages of universal peace, interfaith harmony, and human values across the world. Renowned for his teachings on compassion and mindfulness, he stands as a global symbol of peace and resilience. Often depicted in humble monastic robes with a serene and compassionate expression, the Dalai Lama represents the living heart of Tibetan Buddhism and an enduring light of spiritual wisdom for humanity.
