Chenrezig: The Eternal Compassionate Protector in Meditation
Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara, is depicted in a meditative posture, seated gracefully. Chenrezig, the bodhisattva of compassion, is seated in a meditative posture with his right leg slightly raised, signifying his readiness to swiftly come to the aid of sentient beings. His left leg is folded in a traditional meditative posture, grounded on a lotus throne.
In his right hand, Chenrezig forms the vitarka mudra, representing the gesture of teaching and intellectual discussion. In his left hand, Chenrezig delicately holds a lotus flower, a symbol of purity and enlightenment emerging from the muddy waters of samsara.
