Green Tara

Green Tara, recognized as Tara in her agile form, holds a vital place in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, representing compassion and safeguarding. She is often visualized as a lovely young woman with a green complexion, which signifies action and vitality. Buddhist tradition narrates that Green Tara was born from a tear of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of compassion, who vowed to help all beings overcome fear and suffering. She is celebrated for her quick response to the prayers of those in need, frequently called upon for protection from various dangers and obstacles. Typically depicted in a seated position, she is ready to act swiftly and is associated with several attributes, including her characteristic mudra of giving and her compassionate gaze. The mantra "Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha" is widely chanted to invoke her blessings and support.
