Her Role and Significance in Tibetan Buddhism

Namgyalma, also known as Ushnisha Vijaya, is a revered deity in Tibetan Buddhism associated with long life and purification. She is typically depicted with three faces and eight arms, each face embodying a different aspect of her divine power and compassion. The central face is white, symbolizing purity and the elimination of obstacles. The right face is red, representing compassion and the power to bestow blessings. The left face is black, signifying wrathful energy used to subdue negative forces and protect practitioners.  In her various hands, she holds implements such as a bow and arrow, a vajra, and a lotus, each symbolizing her abilities to protect, nurture, and empower practitioners. Seated in a meditative posture, Namgyalma is often surrounded by a halo of light, emphasizing her transcendence and divine nature. Devotees believe that her practice bestows longevity, purifies negative karma, and offers protection from misfortunes.
