Shakyamuni Buddha
Shakyamuni Buddha, also called Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and is honored as the enlightened teacher who revealed the path to freedom from suffering. After years of deep meditation and austere practice, he achieved enlightenment beneath the Bodhi tree and became known as the "Shakyamuni," meaning "Sage of the Shakya clan." His teachings, known as the Dharma, are the core of Buddhism and include the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path.
