Dorje Drollo Wrathful Deity Statue | Hand-Painted Himalayan Buddhist Art

This exquisitely hand-painted copper Dorje Drollo statue depicts one of Guru Padmasambhava’s manifestations in his most ferocious wrathful form, a powerful protector deity revered in Nyingma and Vajrayana Buddhist traditions. Crafted by skilled Newari artisans in Kathmandu, Nepal, it is formed from premium copper and finished with meticulous hand-painting techniques, reflecting exceptional Himalayan craftsmanship and a deeply rooted sacred artistic tradition.

Dorje Drolo stands atop a white tigress, subduing ignorance and resting on a sacred lotus symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. His wrathful face, marked by three piercing eyes and a fierce fanged expression, is surrounded by a flaming aureole representing transformative power and protection. He holds a vajra in his right hand and a phurba in his left, symbolizing the destruction of negativity and the three poisons, while draped in ceremonial robes with flowing scarves, the deity rests upon an ornately carved lotus base with intricate gilded scrollwork.

Each piece at Nidhiratna is a testament to centuries-old Newari craftsmanship, bringing the sacred art of the Himalayas to shrines, monasteries, and collections around the world.
