Goddess Marichi

Marichi, also known as Marici, is a goddess and bodhisattva of light, wisdom, and protection, revered in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. In Hinduism, she is honored as one of the Saptarishi, a divine sage embodying cosmic energy. In East Asian Buddhism, particularly in Japan, where she is called Marishiten, she serves as a powerful guardian deity of warriors, invoked for courage and victory. Marichi is traditionally depicted as a radiant multi-armed figure riding a chariot drawn by boars or horses, symbolizing the ability to dispel darkness, fear, and ignorance. Devotees worldwide honor her through mantras, rituals, and festivals, recognizing her as a source of spiritual clarity, fearless guidance, and the illuminating light of dawn.
