21 Tara

The 21 Tara represents a collection of 21 different forms of Tara, each embodying specific qualities and attributes to benefit and protect sentient beings. Tara, often referred to as the "Mother of all Buddhas," is a revered deity in Tibetan Buddhism who symbolizes compassion, protection, and healing. Each of the 21 Taras is associated with different aspects of spiritual practice, such as overcoming obstacles, granting blessings, and offering protection from various forms of suffering. The most popular among these is Green Tara, known for her swift assistance, but others, such as White Tara and Red Tara, each hold unique qualities like long life, love, and courage. Tara is usually depicted in a seated posture, often on a lotus flower, with her right hand in a gesture of blessing and her left hand offering a protective gesture. The Tara set highlights her versatility and her compassionate intervention in the lives of practitioners seeking spiritual guidance and liberation. Through chanting her mantra, devotees believe that they can receive the aid and support of these 21 manifestations of Tara in their journey towards enlightenment.
