Amitayus

Amitayus, known as the Buddha of Boundless Life, is a revered figure in Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna Buddhism, often considered a sambhogakaya aspect of Amitabha Buddha. He embodies the qualities of infinite longevity, merit, and wisdom, and is especially invoked for long life and healing. Amitayus is typically depicted seated in meditation posture, holding a vase filled with amrita, the nectar of immortality, and leaves of the ashoka tree, symbolizing life free from suffering. His radiant red form represents vitality and spiritual power. Practitioners engage in visualization, mantra recitation, and ritual offerings to connect with his blessings, aiming to overcome obstacles and extend their lifespan for deeper spiritual practice.
