Masters of the Sakya Lineage

The Five Masters of the Sakya Lineage are enlightened emanations of wisdom and compassion, whose blessings flow like a river of nectar. The blessed Sachen Kunga Nyingpo, receiving direct teachings from Manjushri, revealed the sacred Lamdré, the essence of tantric realization. His son, the radiant Sonam Tsemo, displayed miraculous wisdom from birth and, at death, dissolved into the Dharmakaya in a rain of light. Jetsun Drakpa Gyaltsen, through unwavering devotion, manifested divine powers, suspending ritual objects in mid-air. The omniscient Sakya Pandita, with unshakable wisdom, defeated false views, spreading the Dharma like sunlight across Mongolia. Chögyal Phagpa, merging spiritual and worldly power, became Kublai Khan’s guru, establishing Dharma in the Mongol court. Through their boundless grace, they forged the Sakya tradition—a luminous path to liberation for all beings.
