Guru Rinpoche

Guru Rinpoche, also revered as Padmasambhava, is a central figure in Tibetan Buddhism, often honored as the "Second Buddha" for his profound role in spreading Vajrayana teachings. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche miraculously manifested at the age of eight from a blooming lotus in Lake Dhanakosha, fulfilling the sacred prophecy of Shakyamuni Buddha. Unlike ordinary birth, his appearance was spontaneous and divine, symbolizing his enlightened nature and boundless compassion. Guru Rinpoche is renowned for subduing demonic forces and spiritual obstacles that impeded the Dharma, paving the way for Buddhism to flourish in Tibet. He established Samye Monastery, Tibet’s first Buddhist monastery, and introduced the advanced tantric practices of Vajrayana Buddhism.
