Tsokye Dorje

Tsokye Dorje, which translates to the "Lake-Born Vajra" (or Saroruhavajra in Sanskrit), is a highly revered figure in Vajrayana Buddhism, recognized as one of the Eight Manifestations of Guru Padmasambhava, the master who established Buddhism in Tibet. He is said to have been miraculously born from a lotus on Lake Dhanakosha in the land of Oddiyana, embodying the union of wisdom and skillful means. Tsokye Dorje represents the peaceful aspect of Guru Rinpoche, symbolizing spiritual purity and indestructible wisdom; in his iconography, he is often depicted sitting in a meditative posture, holding a vajra in his right hand and a skull cup filled with the nectar of immortality in his left. Devotees rely on his spiritual power to dispel obstacles, guide them toward profound awakening, and transmit the deepest esoteric truths of the path.
