Shakyamuni Buddha

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, is the historical founder of Buddhism and one of the most revered spiritual teachers in the world. Born over 2,600 years ago in Lumbini, Nepal, as a prince of the Shakya clan, he renounced a life of luxury in search of truth and the end of suffering. After years of deep meditation and self-discipline, he attained enlightenment under the Bodhi Tree in Bodh Gaya, India, becoming the "Buddha", meaning “The Awakened One.”

Shakyamuni Buddha’s teachings form the foundation of Theravāda, Mahāyāna, and Vajrayāna Buddhism. He introduced the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path as a practical guide to overcoming dukkha (suffering) and attaining nirvāṇa (liberation). His philosophy emphasizes mindfulness, ethical conduct, compassion, and wisdom.
