Green Tara

Green Tara is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism who represents enlightened compassion and swift action. She is portrayed as a youthful goddess who sits with one leg folded and the other extended, so she may rise without delay to help those in distress. Because her green color signifies energy and active compassion, she is believed to protect and guide beings through both worldly and spiritual challenges. Devotees call upon her during times of fear and hardship, since she is known to respond quickly and lovingly to sincere prayers. She is also associated with overcoming eight great fears, which include threats such as fire and water as well as inner struggles like pride and ignorance. As a symbol of hope and courage, Green Tara reminds practitioners that liberation is possible through compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith.
