Guru Dragpo

Guru Dragpo is a wrathful manifestation of Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), revered in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism as a fierce protector of the Dharma and a destroyer of obstacles on the path to enlightenment. He is often depicted holding a black vajra and a nine-headed black scorpion, adorned with snakes, skulls, and wearing a tiger skin, standing amidst blazing flames of pristine awareness. Guru Dragpo is invoked in tantric rituals to purify negativity, dispel spiritual and worldly hindrances, and transform destructive energies into wisdom light. His practice is especially potent during transitional times, such as the end of the lunar year, and his mantra—OM AH HUNG ARTSIK NIRTSIK NAMO BHAGAWATE HUNG HUNG AH HUNG HUNG PHAT—is recited to summon his fierce blessings.
